COBIT Foundation Certificate

ISACA's current Foundation notice sets 26 October 2026 as the final purchase date for the COBIT 2019 exam or exam preparation. COBIT 7 Foundation is announced for 27 October 2026; the 2019 program sunsets on 26 April 2027. Check the expiry shown in your own registration rather than assuming every existing purchase lasts until the sunset.

For a job or project deadline, confirm the accepted version and whether you already own an exam registration. ISACA's Foundation notice is the source for the transition; a CertWizard service quotation is separate from the official exam purchase.

The official credential is the COBIT Foundation Certificate. It demonstrates knowledge of the COBIT 2019 framework for governing and managing enterprise information and technology. Its foundation scope is useful when a project requires a shared understanding of governance principles, terminology and objectives.

It is not the same type of award as an experience-based professional certification. Compare CGEIT for enterprise IT governance experience and COBIT Design and Implementation for an applied framework route. Identify the exact COBIT credential and version when comparing a role requirement or discussing your qualification with an employer.

The exam has 75 multiple-choice questions and a two-hour allowance. The passing score is 65%. There are no prerequisites. This percentage-based standard is different from the scaled 450 passing score used by several ISACA professional certification exams.

The outline covers governance systems and components; governance and management objectives; principles; the framework introduction; implementation; designing a tailored governance system; performance management; and the business case. These areas emphasize understanding the framework before deciding how to apply it in a particular organization.

For the currently described COBIT 2019 Foundation exam, ISACA lists US$175 for members and non-members. That issuer fee is separate from any CertWizard service quotation. Check the transition dates above and your individual registration expiry before booking; do not assume the current exam price or eligibility window describes the forthcoming COBIT 7 product.
